about
This is a noise-experiment track I made that slowly evolved into its own thing.
There's a lot going on in this track. Some tracks use databending (where I opened image and .EXE files in Audacity and recorded the glitches). Some tracks came from cassette tape noise experiments. I modified a Walkman to have a potentiometer wired to its tape speed motor, and twisted it back and forth while it was playing tapes of noises I'd made. I also recorded myself flipping the FM radio station dial so it'd pick up static and unintelligible snippets between stations. There's mid-side EQ on a ton of tracks, dynamic EQ, L/R channel EQ with an LFO automating frequency sweeps, parts of tracks are in mono, other parts have things like the Cableguys Shaperbox 2 time module stuttering segments of the signal. I duplicated one track, then gave the original and copy completely different FX chains, with the copy being offset so it'd go in and out of phase. The mix was rendered out at 96khz/32-bit FP (overkill on the 32-bit side, but eh). Then I mastered it and downsampled it to 48Khz/24-bit. So this is weirdly high-quality for noise lol.
I had a lot of fun making this, so I hope you like it.
